Song For The Weekend: Brandon Flowers – Crossfire

11 07 2010

Like Julian Casablancas and Kele before him, Killers frontman Brandon Flowers has put his band duties on hold to go it alone and release a solo record. ‘Crossfire’, taken from the forthcoming album ‘Flamingo’ doesn’t see Brandon take a huge experimental step like we might have expected, but instead serves up a piece of pop charm that would have fitted easily on either ‘Sam’s Town’ or ‘Day & Age’. With or without his band mates though, the again-bearded Flowers doesn’t seem to have lost his knack for penning a swooping, captivating chorus – a talent that will have fans new and old bowing down a modern music icon.
